PostGame: Mets/Rockies
Final: Mets 6. Rockies 1.
Short postgame tonight, just some notes..
-most importantly, Carlos Delgado hit his first HR of the year, a line-drive 2-run SHOT to RF that scored Beltran, who had just hit a perfect, routine double to right field.
-Reyes had 2 steals… in the first two innings! I love Lo Duca’s plate discipline when Reyes is on base. Never swings at first pitch, hits it the other way, gets ‘im over, gets ‘im in.
-Valentin crushed a 3-run mammoth HR… he just continues to star at second base ever since he took over last season!
-Alou keeps hittin’ the ball.. he went 3-for-3 tonight with a walk.
-Maine could never be better, he was GREAT tonight. 7.2 IP, 1 R, 2 BB, 5 K’s. He did allow 7 hits, though. That’s fine.
Tomorrow, the Mets play game two starting at 7:10 PM. El Duque (2-1) will take the mound for the Mets against Aaron Cooke (0-1)
